To become a Good Leader one must learn to be a Good Follower First.

I showed my buddy the letter I plan on sending to my ex girlfriend. He told me it was corny but that I should still send it. He’s not wrong. The letter oozes simp energy. Fuck it though, I don’t care. It’s how I feel and I’m going to send it. I love her and probably always will. If you’re constantly worried about doing cringe shit you’re going to miss out on a lot of valuable experiences in life.

This reminds me of a quote I heard a while back. I was watching a summer league basketball game and one player was being talked about. He’d been quoted as saying “To be a Good Leader you need to be a Good Follower First.” That always stuck with me. Good Leaders and Good Followers aren’t two different breeds of people. They’re dynamic, effective, social humans. They know when to talk and when to be quiet. They’re adaptive.
