Concerned
Ran 7 miles yesterday at a pace of 8:10. It was tough though. I was very tired after those 7 miles. I’m going to take today off from running and go home and do some pushups, pullups, dips etc. Get a nice stretch in as well.
The race is at 8 AM on Saturday. Game plan is to wake up around 6 AM and then drink a cup of coffee and eat an apple. Don’t want to eat too much but want to make sure I have something. Also might try to get my hands on an energy gel I can eat in the middle of the race. My little brother is running with me so I’ll see if he wants to run together. He may not because I expect my pace to be a little quicker but I’d be down to go a little slower and try to break 2 with him.
I always get a little concerned before the race but then the adrenaline kicks in and I usually do better than I expect. Hopefully that happens this time. After I do a little strength workout tonight I’ll go for a walk and then drink a big smoothie. NBA Finals are on tonight so I’ll definitely watch the first half of that. Hopefully it’s a close game. First game wasn’t so great.
I might read some of my book before I go to bed tonight. I’ve been reading the same book for around 3 months. It’s “Human Action” by Mises. Tough read to say the least. Probably not the first Mises book I should have read. I’m on page ~470 now and it’s around a 900 page book. The word catallactic has been used a million times and I still am not totally sure what it means. I do know a decent amount of Austrian School Economics but this is next level stuff. Probably should have went with something a little simpler. Next book I read is going to be much easier.
