Jordan Post

My Jordan post. My mom and him actually share the same birthday. I remember being a very little kid and watching him hit that shot against the Jazz. I must have watched Space Jam over 500 times. Absolute bucket getter. Great on-ball defender. Second best player of all time.

Lebron is the best player of all time. He effects (affects?) the game in a lot of ways Jordan can’t. Jordan is a better on ball defender but Lebron is a better team defender. His feet aren’t as quick as Jordan’s but he can guard the rim better due to his size. Jordan might be a better scorer but Lebron’s shooting percentages are much better. Lebron is a willing passer while Jordan is not. Lebron manipulates defenses in ways that Jordan never did.

LeBron has only won 3 championships (and is about to win his 4th) compared to Jordan’s 6. Lebron took much worse teams to the championship than Jordan ever did. He’s been to the Finals 10 times while Jordan has only been there 6. The year Jordan played baseball the Bulls still went 55-27 and went deep in the playoffs. When LeBron left the Cavs they were the worst team in the league after having the best record in the regular season the year before.

If you switched LeBron on the Jordan’s Bulls teams though I’m not sure they get better. Jordan was a perfect fit for those teams. They were elite defensive teams that would hound your opposing ball handlers. Pippen and Jordan were nightmares for opposing offenses and Jordan was elite at figuring it out on offense.

This might not have been a good fit for LeBron. LeBron is better on teams that can get up and down the floor and spread it out. LeBron has that Magic Johnson ability on the fast break where he takes advantage of 4 on 3 and 3 on 2 situations. He always makes the right basketball play. He brings a better skillset to the half-court games than Magic Johnson though. He can shoot it much better and is a more explosive ball handler. Also LeBron’s ability to avoid injury is truly hard to understand. He’s been in the league for 16 years and he’s never missed more than 30 games in a season. And we all know those games he misses are rarely due to injury and more often due to rest.

Press Conference LeBron annoys me though. He can’t just be happy playing basketball, everything he does has to be a huge statement. It’s hard to blame him considering he’s been in the national spotlight since he was 16. He’s a lot like A-Rod in that he’s a grade A narcissist. Everything he does is about him. I mean it’s working for him so what do I know. I just know that I don’t really root for him but I doubt he would care. Something about Jordan’s attitude is just much more appealing. Everything that LeBron does feels like its manufactured and Jordan seems organic. Both have built gigantic sports brands and have done admirable philanthropic work. LeBron just rubs me the wrong way.
