He Can’t Fuckin Lose

Might be a mistake to drink coffee right now. It’s like 4:40 and work is going to be over in 20 minutes. I’ll drive home and then crush a nice run. I usually only like to run every other day but it’s supposed to rain on Friday and it’s a nice day out today so I figure I’ll run today instead.

I drank a cup of coffee at the same time yesterday and I had some trouble falling asleep last night. I laid in bed at like 10:30 but didn’t actually fall asleep until like 11:45. Woke up pretty tired this morning. I wonder if it had something to do with the temperature in my room. The radiator right next to my bed was bumping but I turned the fan on to cool it down. Hopefully I’ll go for my run tonight and that will tire me out. This coffee’s got me feeling right though so we’ll see.

I’m still reading that Human Action book. Up to around page 540. Only about 340 pages left to go. That’s only like one big book. I think I’ve read all I can about originary interest for a little while. That podcast I started listening to the other day is still hilarious. One particular line really got me. One of the hosts was trying to explain smart phone addiction to someone from long ago. “It’s like imagine if you had a window where you can look and see whatever you want whenever you want it. The old guy would be like yea that seems alright but I think it’d get boring. No, no but there are words on there and you read them and they make you angry.” That had me cracking up for a while.

Yesterday’s run was pretty chill too. I think I ran around an 8:00 pace. The last mile was under 7 because I was listening to that bop again. Still don’t hate that song but its appeal is definitely fading. I also just got into a pretty interesting conversation about LeBron and narcissism. To expect him to not be a total delusional narcissist is unreasonable. He’s a great basketball player who says dumb stuff when he gets interviewed. He’s not good at reading the temperature of the room. He thinks he’s coming across as profound but its really just clueless. At the end of the day though, he’s a great basketball player who says dumb stuff. It’s not that big of a deal.
