“That’s awesome, man”
Went out with my buddy on Saturday. Went to dinner and then went out to bar afterwards. Had a very nice time. We were sitting across from a couple of chicks and they were checking us out the whole time. They were cute too. Didn’t make a move but felt pretty good to get checked out. Going to have to grow a pair and make a move in one of those situations pretty soon. In due time good sir, keep hammering.
Had a good lift yesterday. Was a little hungover but took a b12 pill then slurped a coffee down and got fired up. Push day so I did 10 sets of overhead press, bench press, dips, and pushups. I decided that I wasn’t going to squat since that would be my 4th time squatting that week. I feel like squatting heavy on back to back days is not a great idea. So I’m going to continue squatting Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and skip squatting on Sunday.
My overhead press is absolute ass. My top set for a single was 105 lbs. I went for 115 but failed. Need to make serious gains in that lift. I’d like to eventually get my single up to 135. Keep hammering, beast.
Hit a new PR on the bench. I always do my first set with just the bar and then put 45’s on each side for my second set. Then I go for my top single in the 3rd set. I did 12 easy reps with just the bar. Then I did 8 reps of 135. Then I threw extra 25’s on for a total of 185. I called a guy over to help with a spot and told him I’d be lucky to get one rep. I got down on the bench lifted it off the hooks dropped the bar to my chest and then cleanly pressed it. Spotter didn’t even have to touch it. “Damn, that’s the first time I did that!” I exclaimed to my spotter. “That’s awesome, man.” He said back to me, smile visible through his mask.
