Getting Fat

Had my first practice with the team I coach on Wednesday. We initially had 2-3 practices in November but good ol’ Phil Murphy shut down indoor sports when the virus started cooking again. I’m glad to be back. Was getting chirped quite a bit by the guys and my coaches for my mustache. I don’t give a fuck it looks great lol. Plus being able to laugh at yourself a little builds character. Life’s going pretty good!

My investments actually had a little bit of a setback this week. I was also a sick fuck on Tuesday and sold my bitcoin that was sitting in robinhood. The price of bitcoin was up and the miners were down so I figured I could easily make the trade and when the miners react to the price I could get extra movement upwards. Also the miners are a good way to get extra leverage but it also comes with more risk. Not only are you invested in Bitcoin but you’re invested in the infrastructure of the business built on top of bitcoin. Extra layers of risk. I’m also going to have to pay the capital gains tax of the sale of the bitcoin that I sold to get the extra shares in MSTR, RIOT, and MARA.

Game plan is to sell off a large chunk of RIOT and MARA on November 24th (lowering my Capital Gains tax burden because I’ll have held them for a year) and then keep the remaining shares. If I’m correct, both these companies should be in the triple digits by then so the money I earn from that sale will help with my short term costs of living immensely. I’ll still have more bitcoin in cold storage and in my IRA so I should be set in the long term as well. I’ll also have the shares of RIOT, MARA, and MSTR still but I’m expecting major corrections in 2022 for these stocks. I never plan on selling MSTR and would like to be a long term dividend yielder for that company. Currently they don’t give out a dividend but I think that will likely change to keep investors from selling.

I squatted 295 again at the gym yesterday. I went for 315 but I failed. I hit a new PR for my overhead press (OHP) as well. Put up 115 for the first time. That is definitely, along with my bench, one of my weaker exercises. I went for a single rep of 185 again yesterday and almost failed. Spotter touched the bar on the way up because he saw I was struggling. Strength gains aren’t linear so this is to be expected. I felt much stronger in my ten sets of dips and pushups at the end of my workout, though, so that’s a good sign. I was looking at myself in the mirror after the workout and noticed I had put a little bit of a gut on. That’s ok, if you want to make significant strength goals you’re going to put a little fat on as well. Weighed in at 175 last night though so that was a little concerning. Goal is to do more of a lean bulk though so I’ll be running tonight. Onward, fellas.
